- leaders behind great speech -

Adolf Hitler

one of the most influential man on the planet. his words unite the germans in war. his words becomes the foundation of the Nazi movement. his words force the world to join the war. his words inspires people all over the globe.

but for all the wrong reason, he made his people believe that the german are superiors. the germans should control the world. his speech really influence people that the war they commit are for the better future. he shows his authority in his speech. he believes by doing that, his people will be more persuade to follow his leads.

Winston Churchill

another great man in world history. the former prime minister is another great example on how speech can turn into a powerfull weapon. he shows the world that he can fight the Nazi's. he convince peoples of Britain to join the army and fight the Nazi's. he shows that he can handle the pressure in war. he is so sure that he can win the war. a great motivation for the allied troops to fight againts the Nazi's.

a little bit different in characters to compare with Hitler. the good side of the world. his message are more calm and more positive. his mind was all set to fight againts the Nazi's . his calmness made him not afraid of all the challenges.

- Smiles that never fade... -

Katherine Ann Watson has accepted a position teaching art history at the prestigious Wellesley College. Watson is a very modern woman, particularly for the 1950s, and has a passion not only for art but for her students. For the most part, the students all seem to be biding their time, waiting to find the right man to marry. The students are all very bright and Watson feels they are not reaching their potential. Altough a strong bond is formed between teacher and student, Watson's views are incompatible with the dominant culture of the college. Written by garykmcd ( imdb )

another great teacher movies again. this time with a touch of feminism. how hard can it be to change the mind of students in very traditional institution??? the answer is, very hard. the society at that moment rejects the idea of woman involve too much inside the society. the role of a woman is behind the kitchen doors and stay at home waiting for their husband to come home. the traditional mindset never change untill katherine ann watson comes to their door and open their mind.

it was hard at first, but slowly the ladies realise their own potential to success and not just another ordinary housewive. the story really inspires everyone to always chase their dream and not let some orthodox thinking to stop you. ..

- the new -ism = lesson in life 101 -

it is wonderfull how a writer turn the life of animals in the farm to become much like human community. George Orwell simply did that in Animal Farm.

a satire they said, but the truth is, it is happening in the world we live today. from socialism, all animals in the farm are treated equally with respect for each other. they even have the commandment that becomes the foundation of the farm.

then comes capitalism, when economic system inside the farm are generated only for profit and privately own. the pigs get all the benefits form other animals hardwork ( workers ). they started to behave more humans than the humans it self.

all - ism inside this story give us a moment to think. Are we ready for the real world? can we stand the challenge and survive in this cruel world? do we have the guts to save ourself from greed and lust to control the power to everything?

just another great story to share. lesson that very valuable in life. is about time to choose the right move in life.

- Inspiration from the past......

hello there, finally we meet again. few hours before the deadline..hahaha lets recall back everything we did in the past few weeks. i like to start with, the use of music in teaching.

it is an interesting way to create a relaxing environtment in classroom. some might say it is not suitable to listen to music in language classroom. but who cares..right. haha

for me, music is a great tool to attract students attention in class. furthermore, good music delivers great message and values. it is up to teachers to choose the right songs and lyrics.

for such inspirational music, without a doubt, i choose Wind of Change by Scorpion. simply because the history behind the song really captivate my mind.

The lyrics celebrate the political changes in Eastern Europe at that time – such as the Polish Round Table Agreement and fall of the Berlin Wall, the increasing freedom in the communist bloc (which soon led to the dissolution of the Soviet Union), and the clearly imminent end of the Cold War. ( source wikipedia )

such a good song to inspire students on how life can change if they work hard towards their ambition.

- Lean on me - The review.

An arrogant and unorthodox teacher returns as principal to the idyllic high school from which he had earlier been fired to find it a den of drug abuse, gang violence, and urban despair. Eventually his successful but unorthodox methods lead to a clash with city officials that threatens to undo all his efforts. Based on a true story. courtesy of imdb written by Keith Loh.

Here is my reflection on question posted for tutorial.

1. What do you think of the movie in term of entertainment value?

Another great movie based on a true story that very honest in delivering the message to all American during that period of time. for me, the movie really gives the entertainment value despite the heavy message that they try to deliver. there is a time in this movie that gives a laughter to the audience eventhough it was meant a serious bussines. All in all this is a great movie and off course Morgan Freeman in it. =)

2. How does it affect you as you are taking B.ed Tesl course now?

It affected me in a way that i knew that i have to be prepare for a situation like that. it is not easy to handle a school with so much problem in one place.

3. How does it affect you if you relate the story in the movie to the teachers whom you know in the past?

Cikgu disiplin. the only teacher in school that used almost the same method to guide their students. i have never came across such principle like Mr. Joe Clark maybe in the future ill be one. =)

4. What kind of practical / theoretical lesson that you learned after viewing this movie?
this explain everything...quotes from Mr. Joe Clark
"If we treat our students like animals, that's exactly how they'll behave"
